Its unbelievable how many people miss ample opportunities to exercise.
Exercise does not necessarily mean being in the gym for 2 hours each day. Or even running 30 minutes each day. Sure if you can do all that, its fantastic.
But who has the time? Are we all not so very busy each day. With our work, family, friends, relatives, parties.
But I know in our heart, we all want to get some time to exercise. Its just that we are unable to 'find time'. So what do we do? We rant about it !
"I have to exercise. I will start next monday". I am sure we have missed an awful number of such 'Mondays' of exercise.
"Just this project and then I start going to the gym". Sure we go. Once. maybe twice. Then our routine engulfs us.
I was like that some time ago. I could just conjure up some reason to not be able to exercise. And then one day I was going through a regular medical test. My cholestorol level was reported to be in the DANGER ZONE !!! The doctor was mad at me. He gave me an hour of his time to basically scream/yell/almost flog me and said I should never see him again if I do not change my habits. I was not eating the wrong foods. Its just that I wasnt helping my body to properly use whatever I ate.
But I had no time to exercise. Office started at 9. I had to leave home by 8. Through the day there were so many things to do and so many people to visit/talk to. By 5 in the evening I was tired. and then there was some more work to do. Earliest I would reach home was 6:30. Then coffee. Some more work. TV. Friends. Dinner. TV.
You can see there was no time to exercise.
REALLY ?? I asked myself.
I started getting up early and even did some running ( about 30 minutes a day ). It was not everyday. Some days I would be lazy and not run. Other days I would have a hangover and not run. Yet some other days I would sleep until late !! And the running also stopped. I even tried running in the evening. So I could escape getting up early.
But, not all days would treat me the same. If I got about 30 minutes late getting back home, my will to run would run away from me !!
I was then determined to find a way to get over this 'No time to exercise' problem. And so was born the idea of creating an exercise routine while in the Office !!
Today, I manage to find opportunites to exercise while in the office and I also have been going to the gym and been running ( mostly in the evenings ). As much as not exercising becomes a habit, exercising too becomes a habit. It is an addiction. Ask the people who have been through it.
